Lunch in DC
moleskin sketch/watercolor
I was having lunch in DC with my daughter this week at the delicious Bread &Brew: http://breadandbrew.com/, and who should walk by but Karl Rove. I waved and pointed to the button on my shirt. Just in case you can't see it, it says Obama 2012.

View from Money Make Bridge
6x6" oil
This morning I took a bike ride and noticed the red tips on many of the trees. Later, I saw a photo on the front page of the local paper - a view from Money Make Bridge in Trappe, MD. Then thinking I shouldn't paint or post without the photographer's permission, I called Erin Fluharty whose photographs I've admired for years. "Help yourself," she said, and so I did. Sometimes life in this small town is very sweet.
P.S. Erin doesn't have a website...yet...or I would have posted a link.
